PenTex Energy (formerly Cooke County Electric) Scholarship Application

PenTex Energy (formerly Cooke County Electric Cooperative) will award twenty (20) scholarships of $1000 each to area high school seniors or students already attending college full time (12 semester hours). Scholarships will be made available to active member's graduating seniors who are living full time in residences (residential metering) receiving service from Cooke County Electric Cooperative Association or for full-time college students living outside the PenTex service area whose parents are members of PenTex

Applicants must have maintained a 2.0 GPA and demonstrate acceptable standards of citizenship and good character as evidenced by two letters of recommendation from teachers, principals, deans, counselors, etc., from the school they are attending.

Applicants must have been accepted in a post-secondary program at an accredited institution (two year, four year or technical) as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours).  In order for the scholarship payment to be issued, the student must submit to PenTex proof of enrollment and proof of full-time student status from the registrar's office for the current semester. Prior to July 1, 2020 the student must also supply PenTex with the name of the school he will be attending, the student ID number and the name and address of the department the scholarship money shall be sent.

Applicants must submit an "original" head shot photo with the application to be used in future PenTex Energy publications.

Applications are available in the counselor's office or on the PenTex website.  Applications must be received at PenTex office no later than February 7, 2020.
