Bowie JV and Freshmen Tournament Results

The high school volleyball teams competed in the Bowie JV and Freshmen Tournament Saturday.
In the JV division, the Blue Team of Kaylene, Taylor, Joyce, Makayla, Stormy, Barbara, Courtney T, and Brittani was defeated by Ponder 18-25, 19-25; Vernon 14-25, 17-25; and Bowie 10-25, 21-25.  They split games with Nocona 25-22, 19-25.  I think we played well for the most part.  Our serves let us down, but overall, we played well together as a team.  I see improvement every time we play. 

 
In the Freshmen division, the Gold Team of Anne, Alicia, Bailey, Jordan, Courtney S, Kara, Katie, Casey, and Brooklyn lost to Bowie 21-25, 24-26; Celina 9-25, 13-25, and Nocona 12-25, 12-25.  They split games with Perrin 24-26, 25-16.  The girls worked well together as a team, and they did what Coach Pae asked.

Thanks to Mrs Bristow and Kim for keeping the scorebook for the tournaments, and Kyler and Cy for being our linesmen.

Playing more experienced teams will help us become better teams.  Sometimes it takes finding the right combination, so I am trying to put different people in the lineup.  Next Saturday, both teams will be competing in the Lindsay JV and Freshmen Tournament.
