Audra Cozart Participates in Spectrum
July 06, 2010
High school Senior, Audra Cozart, participated in "Spectrum" - an opportunity for high school students to earn university credits during the Summer 1 Term at Midwestern State University.
SPECTRUM is an elite five-week scholarship program for academically talented high school students. Credits earned through Spectrum may be applied to a degree program at MSU or another university or college after students graduate from high school. Audra was one of 37 students from across Texas to participate in this year’s program. She was also a recipient of a $2100 scholarship covering tuition and housing. During this term each participant is required to take two classes. Audra selected Psychology and College Algebra.
Along with the distance learning classes offered at Prairie Valley through North Central Texas College Audra has already completed 12 college credit hours.
Audra states: “It was a great experience that gives me a better understanding of the differences between high school and college. Developing new friendships and adjusting to living with three unfamiliar roommates offers it own learning opportunities. I recommend “Spectrum” to anyone who has the chance to participate.”
