AR Reading Requirements
Reading Requirements for 6-8th grade
Three AR tests are required on books with a reading level of no less than 4.2 and point value of 2 or more, per book, for each six weeks, with the exception of the last six weeks where two AR tests are required for a total of 17 tests taken by the end of the 2011-2012 school year. Zeros will be given each six weeks for failure to read and test on required books.
If a student fails a test, a copy of the results, will go home to be signed by a parent or guardian. A student may read and test on a different book to replace the failed test.
Our Reading Renaissance program is online which gives students access to all the tests on a variety of books, even books our library doesn't carry just yet. Students may check out books from our library, Nocona Library or purchased books they have at home. Unsure if the book has a test, just bring it in, and we can check it online or go to arbookfind.com.
