Mrs. Hilton's Teaching Philosophy
October 14, 2008
I originally wrote this when was in college and working as an aide in Nocona. Now, I believe this more than ever. I see children in my classroom, and I feel I can make a difference.
Philosophy
I believe that all students should be provided the opportunity to learn. I believe that it is my responsibility to provide an atmosphere conducive for learning and creativity. I believe that it is my job to provide structure and support for all my students. I believe that rules should be made and followed for the benefit of the entire class. I believe that fair and appropriate sanctions should be imposed. I believe it is important to be flexible, yet firm. I believe the teacher should be a positive role model for all students as well as her peers. I believe that it is my ability to make the classroom environment interesting and challenging that will make my students want to learn. I believe students achieve what is expected of them, so I challenge them to think critically and outside the box. I believe I am a part of the bigger picture in the lives of my students, and I hope to positively touch each and every one.
