"Little Miss Jim Bowie Days Rodeo Queen"

July 06, 2010

Nine-year-old Kincaid Johnson from Nocona was named the junior horsemanship winner and crowned Little Miss Jim Bowie Days Rodeo Queen on Saturday, June 26 in Bowie, Texas. Johnson, a straight A student at Prairie Valley, is the daughter of Phillip and Stacey Ward of Nocona and Garrett and Savanah Johnson of Forestburg.  She is the granddaughter of Melva Jean Terry of Nocona, the late Curlie Terry, Jr. of Okarche, Oklahoma, and Gary and Elizabeth Johnson and Stacey and Brian Hudspeth of Forestburg.

Kincaid has been riding in playdays and youth rodeos since she was five.  She was the 2006 Saint Jo Rodeo Queen.  She has competed in the MRCA, TRCA, JBYRA, and AASP&RC organizations.  She has won a total of seven buckles.

She has participated in Nocona Little Dribblers and Nocona Volleyball League.  She is a member of the Prairie Valley 4H and participated in the Montague County Youth Fair this past January.  She maintains her place on the high academic honor roll each year and made perfect scores on both of her state-based TAKS tests this year.  Kincaid will be a 4th grader at Prairie Valley during the 2010-2011 school year.
